
Alex Schwartz
Producer, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Paramount
Alex Schwartz has been a studio executive and film producer for over 25 years. Her movies have crossed all genres with a particular focus on high concept family films in live action, hybrid and CGI animation. She is currently producing a new feature for Sony Pictures Animation.
Most recently, Alex produced the animated feature The Addams Family for MGM. In 2016-17 Alex headed Production at Alpha Animation Studios, an LA based division of the China based Alpha Group. Before that, Alex worked for DreamWorks Animation Studios as head of development. In that capacity she oversaw the creative staff and was involved in a slate including How To Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda 2, Madagascar 3, Shrek 4 , Puss In Boots, The Croods and Home. She also produced the feature film “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King).
Prior to DreamWorks Animation, Alex was Head Creative for Walden Media. In that role, Schwartz produced and supervised many films, including Holes, Because of Winn-Dixie, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Charlotte’s Web , Journey To The Center of The Earth 3D and Bridge to Terabithia. Alex began her entertainment career in 1991 at Walt Disney Studios’ Touchstone Pictures where she was senior vice-president. While at Touchstone, she oversaw such titles as What’s Love Got to Do With It, Sister Act, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion and Rushmore. Following Disney, Schwartz was Head of Production at Bel Air Entertainment, —where her film credits included Rockstar and Pay It Forward. Alex Schwartz is a New York native. She has a B.A. from Boston University and an M.A. from NYU. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, 2 daughters, 2 dogs and one enormous cat.
