Juan-Luis Sanchez
VFX Supervisor, SWAPPED & BLUSH, Skydance Animation
Juan-Luis Sanchez has been working in Feature Animation and VFX for almost thirty years in the USA, UK and Europe. He has helped create some of the most recognisable and beloved on-screen characters including Paddington in “Paddington”, Yoda in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Dobby in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, the cursed pirates in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”, and Dr Ryan Stone, the accident-prone astronaut played by Sandra Bullock in “Gravity.” In 2014, he was awarded with a Visual Effects Society Award for Outstanding FX and Simulation Animation in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture for his contributions to the Parachute and ISS Destruction in “Gravity.”
In feature animation, he was the Character FX supervisor on Paramount Animation´s “Wonder Park” and the Character Supervisor on Skydance Animation´s “Luck”.
He was the VFX Supervisor on Skydance Animation’s short “Blush” (Apple+) as well as their third feature, “Swapped,” streaming on Netflix May 1st, 2026.
