Co-founder and senior advisor at Vanedge Capital
“MORE LESSONS FROM A CAREER IN DIGITAL MEDIA” OR “THE TALK I WISH I HAD HEARD 36 YEARS AGO”
Building on last year’s VIEW presentation on lessons from his almost 40 years working in digital media, Glenn Entis returns with the sequel. The focus this year is on some of the hard lessons that are not typically covered in conferences and workshops, lessons about knowing and believing in yourself, and how to make opportunities out of the inevitable failures that crop up in any career, no matter how successful.
Glenn Entis is a pioneer of computer graphics, animation, and video games. In the course of a career of almost 4 decades he was co-founder Pacific Data Images (now DreamWorks Animation), CEO of DreamWorks Interactive, and Chief Visual and Technical Officer of Electronics Arts, and a founding partner of Vanedge Capital, a Vancouver based venture capital fund focusing on digital media. In 1998 he was awarded the Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for his design and development work on PDI’s animation system. Glenn is active in the education community, serving as an honorary professor at Emily Carr University, an adjunct professor at the Masters of Digital Media program at Great Northern Way, and in lectures at schools and conferences around the world.
