Camera Mapping Workshop 12-13th December

Wednesday 12 December workshop Camera Mapping Part I

9:00 – 16:15 including 1 hour lunch | Piazza dei Mestieri – via Durandi, 13 Torino

Price: 20 Euros Students | 40 Euros Professionals REGISTRATION CLOSED

During this workshop, participants will be shown how to create a photo realistic shot from a photographic still, using the alignment of geometry and cameras to a backplate and then mapping via the camera’s perspective. Camera mapping is an effective way to create an animated shot without spending lots of time modelling – frequently used in film, commercials and broadcast television.

This workshop is organized by VIEW Conference in partnership with Escape Studios and La Piazza Dei Mestieri-ITS.

Thursday 13 December workshop Camera Mapping Part II

9:00 – 16:15 including 1 hour lunch | Piazza dei Mestieri – via Durandi, 13 Torino

Price: 20 Euros Students | 40 Euros Professionals REGISTRATION CLOSED

To follow on from the beginners workshop this class will be looking at alternative ways to line up cameras with geometry. Students will also be building a more advanced set and applying sky replacement as well as replacing other elements.

Escape Studios’ tutor, Dan Shutt will provide participants with a photo from his own collection and take them through each of the camera mapping steps required to convert it into their own animated shot. He will also discuss the simple means by which they can vary the elements within the shot and introduce new elements. By the end of the workshop, participants will know how to create animated shots of everything from their own home to world famous landmarks.
