HORS CHAMPS
For me, film music is not a genre in itself. The composer should, ideally, write music that reveals a secret part of the film, not music that underlines the action or dialogue. Animated films are a marvellous opportunity for composers, as their worlds are rarely realistic, and the music thus becomes a real character. I've been lucky enough to work with inventive and very talented filmmakers like Henry Selick and Tomm Moore. It's these experiences, so enriching for me, that I'd like to talk about during VIEW Conference
